"OHHHH MHY GAWRSH!" Dagar exclaimed, throwing down his hat. "THIS IS BEAUTIFUL!"
The old cowboy looked around the meadow, hands out, slowly spinning with joy, eyes constantly
flitting around. He struggled to look at everything at once with glimmering eyes that were
Meanwhile his daughter Alex was having an inward tantrum. She was sitting on a nearby stump,
glowering. She texted quickly on her dolphin-cased phone, beautiful blue eyes narrowed like a
hungry hawk's as it searched craftily for food. Alex was searching for revenge.
Alex: what should i do
Alex: come on i could be partying with cute boys give me something good
Mary<3: Well....oh, I know!
Alex swiftly cast a glance at Dagar, her innocent, innocent father. But he had made
her come with him to this ugly dull green dirty meadow. So he was going down.
Mary<3: Pretend that you like it for a long time, then when he shows you a living animal,
scare it as hard as you can.
Alex: i love you
Mary<3: Last chance, though. No backing out. Do you really want to do this?
Alex: yes! of course
Alex slipped her bulky phone into her pocket and tied her hair back like a boss.
Then she walked back to the clearing where Dagar was and cracked her knuckles.
"Hey, Dad?" She piped up.
"Yes, sweetie? Oh my goodness, yes! You've finally also become a nature
lover!" He grabbed her and squeezed her close. "I love you so much, sweetie.
Thank you for being with me. I'm sorry that you couldn't go to your party."
Psssh. Yeah, right, Alex thought, rolling her eyes.
"Oh, no, it's fine. I'm sorry I've been such a....grump." It was hard for her
to say it because she wasn't sorry in the least.
Dagar walked her around, smiling and singing quietly to himself. He suddenly
stopped and clasped a gentle, blistered hand to her polished lips and nearly made
her cry out because it was now partway on his hand.
I am so going to enjoy doing this. Alex thought angrily.
Dagar was pointing to a deftly placed, beautiful, truly majestic doe rabbit,
grinning wildly with pleasure. "What a magical moment." He breathed into her
ear, making her shiver and pull away glaring.
Alex suddenly realized that this was her chance, and lunged at the rabbit.
It actually held still and she ended up landing on it. Dagar yelped with horror.
Alex was terrified when she felt a bite and suddenly everything went black.
Trapped. Alex squirmed and kicked with all of her might, legs more powerful
than she knew she could be, biting every which way in the complete darkness.
Her heart was beating quickly, her eyes peeled open wide. Suddenly there was
a loud groan and she was released.
Daylight flooded her vision and she blinked again and again, dazed. Her vision
was all wacky, and she struggled to find a spot to look at. She couldn't seem to
look directly ahead. She tried to walk away but her legs felt kind of like a
mermaid's, so she hopped instead, which surprisingly worked.
She hopped right out of there into a bush, and only then did she gain complete
consciousness. But her vision was still weird. She could only seem to use one
eye at a time, and she turned her head sideways to look at what the rubble was.
A gigantic girl was smiling wildly and getting up off of the ground, beautiful outfit
completely ruined, a locket swinging crazily from her neck, seemingly shining
your fault at her, which was impossible.
Wait. That's mine...Mary gave it to me!
Stunned, Alex was forced into resignation that that human wasn't her anymore.
The girl was roughly picked up by her father, who was glaring at her. But the girl
merely hopped, then walked away, laughing with pleasure. "This is SO AMAZING!"
She was screaming.
"Get back here," Dagar grunted, "I am glad you're alright, but just stop. You
hurt a piece of nature!"
Alex slowly looked at her feet and saw that they were giant and had claws.
She thumped it and enjoyed the sensation. But she was still a rabbit. "What..."
she murmured, thinking it over.
Mary had warned her. Mary had asked her. Mary had given her a final message.
Was Mary magical? Mary knew. Mary knew everything, how the world worked. She
always got A+s in every class. What if...what if Mary controlled the universe? It
was possible. She was often away on "trips"....This was beyond ridiculous, but
Alex was a freaking rabbit now, so....
She absentmindedly hopped slowly around, trying to adjust to her heightened
hearing and side-eyes. And the fact that walking just wasn't going to happen.
Suddenly something brushed up against her. "Hel-lo, sweet." A gigantic buck
mused, and her heart rate picked up.
"Wh...what are you doing?" She asked shakily.
"Rabbits multiply quickly, you know..."
